The score was 6-5 in favour of Pankaj and Babar was placing good safety, but when Pankaj got a chance for long red pot, he succeeded to accumulate few red-black combinations to score a break of 32 points. Although Pankaj committed a foul on the last red, no major damage and he sealed the frame in the next visit to win the title.

Pakistan player Babar Masih knocked out his compatriot Haris Tahir in a one-sided affair 6-0 in the quarter-final match and confirmed his entry into the medals round of the Qatar 6Reds World Cup.

Haris appeared to be under pressure of playing against his senior from his country and failed to score on the opportunities he got. In most of the frames, he was out of reach and seeking to apply snooker, which he failed whereas Babar constantly dominated in all the frames with the breaks of 34, 38 and 32 to reach a scoreline of 6-0.
