Amin Sanjaei wins marathon match against Joshua Burns

3 hours 11 minutes long marathon match of Group L between Iranian player Amin Sanjaei and Joshua Burns was the last exciting match of the day. Through out these long hours, the match swung from this side to that and reverse. Finally, Amin Sanjaei came out from venue as winner.


The excitement started from the first frame itself where Amin Sanjaei lost the frame just by 2 points. However, he made a good recovery and levelled the match by scoring 61 against 24 of Joshua. Third frame again pulled by Joshua having almost identical score 61-36.

In fourth frame, they both put in all efforts for scoring shots, safety and planting snookers to counter each other. However, Joshua got a chance for colour clearance but it could only be pressure that after potting brilliant pink, he missed the simple black and match entered into the deciding frame.

Joshua took charge and started potting. Once again it appeared that he will be the winner but on a score of 51-18, a bad positioning curtailed him to score further and gave chance to Sanjaei.

Sanjaei used that opportunity and moved on to cover the lead. He also obtained 14 points for foul and miss on black to move ahead 59-51.

The game of safe shots began and lastly Amin Sanjaei potted the Blue then couple of more rounds of safety on Pink and final shots on Pink and Black to win the frame 77-51 and the match 3-2.
