Continuing her winning streak, the defending champion, Wendy Jans of Belgium secured passage into the knockout stage of the 2017 IBSF World Women Snooker Championship by beating two-time runner-up Anastasia Nechaeva of Russia 3-0 in her last group match today.
Winning 12 frames in four group matches and losing only one frame, Wendy secured top-position in group A. Being group leader, she will now go to quarter finals directly as group leaders will receive a free round in single elimination.
Her first group match was against Theresa Whitten of Australia. Wendy cruised to a 3-0 win against her with an outstanding century break of 102 in opening frame. Her second group match was another clean 3-0 win, this time she beat Hong Kong’s Pui Ying Chu. In her third match, she lost one frame against Indian girl Varshaa Sanjeev before securing 3-1 win.
And today, she outclassed another strong contender, from Russia, Anastasia Nechaeva 3-0 having breaks of 77 and 43. Though Anastasia stood strong in second frame and crafted break of 38 points but Wendy countered her well to keep her winning streak inline.
