World Under 21 Snooker Championship
Day Three – Tuesday 3rd August
First Session
The Session started good for England’s Sam Craigie with two breaks of 59 and 73 to win 4-0 over Sweden’s Benjamin McCabe. The next match was a closer affair with a tightly fought 4-3 win for Danni Bismoot of Israel over Kishan Hirani of Wales. Man Hoi Leong from China Hong Kong struggled in his Group F match and lost 4-1 to Austrian Alexander Gauss.
Campbell Dunlop Had a hard fought match as well in his Group E encounter with Adem Gerwash from Libya, but managed to win the decider to take the win.
Adam Stefanow from Poland was in terrific form in his match against Arya Sohrabi from the Netherlands. He had five breaks of over 50 in the five frame match, he hit a 50, 52, 63, 78 and a 86 to win 4 frames to 1.In Group E Welshman Jamie Clarke was at 1-1 with Irishman Greg Casey. Casey hit a 62 in the second frame, before Clarke hit a 118 and a 71 to win the match 4-1.
Group F had Michael Leslie from Scotland winning 4-0 against David Cassidy from Ireland with the help of two breaks of 52 and 55. The final match of the session was also a 4-0 win for Group F player Chinnapat Kamdad from Thailand against France’s Brian Ochoiski
Second Session
The session started with Germany’s Benedikt Griesdorn winning a close encounter against Ukraine’s Vladyslav Vyshnevskyy by 4 frames to 3 in their Group H clash. Irishman Gareth Boyle lost a close match in Group H against Qatar’s Ali Alobaidli by 4 frames to 3. Group H had Egypt player Mohamed Ibrahim Aly secure a straightforward 4-0 win against Mohammed Faithi Alsenan from Saudi Arabia.
Irishman Stephen Reddington was on great form in his match and managed a quick 4-0 win against his opponent Sigurour Kristjansson from Iceland. A close encounter was watched in the match between Belgium’s Kristof Vermeiren and Malta’s Thurston Grixti. Thurston Grixti managed to win on the final black in the decider in his 4-3 win.
Karim Mohamed Metwaly from Egypt won his Group H match Against Abdullah A. Alatyani from Saudi Arabia by 4 frames to 1. In Group D Northern Ireland’s Declan Brennan had a comfortable win against Julius Grauls from Belgium, winning his match 4 frames to 2.
The final match of this session saw Rhys Clark from Scotland win in quick fashion by 4 frames to 0 against Simon Lee from China Hong Kong in their Group G match.
Third Session
Session three started with an easy win for Robert Carlisle from Scotland in Group A with a 4-0 victory over Mostafa Gerbaly from Egypt. Nick Jennings from England also had an easy win in Group I with a four-nil victory over Aleksi Tenkula from Finland.
Irish player Josh Boileau had a 4-1 victory over Abdullah Alsubhi from Saudi Arabia in Group J. Maltese player Aaron Busuttil won his match 4-0 against Micheal Smyth from Northern Ireland in Group J. Dylan Murray allso from Northern Ireland, won his match 4-2 against Kusai Sharif from Libya.
Australian player Kurt Brown managed to win his encounter against Germany’s Roman Dietzel by 4frames to one after going down 1-0 a 91 break from Dietzel. An all Ireland clash against Danial O’Regan and Daniel Dempsey was pretty much a one sided affair in Group I as Dempsey out potted O’Regan and won 4 frames to 1. The final match of the session saw another win for China’s Li Yan against Israel’s Maor Shalom by the score of 4 frames to 0.
Fourth Session
Shachar Ruberg from Israel had a break of 57 in the third frame to help him to a four-one victory in Group B against Mitchell Van Den Bergh from the Netherlands. Group C players Michal Zielinski from Poland and Janne Saarela from Finland met in their encounter with Michal having breaks of 53 in the third frame and a 58 in the fifth frame to win 4 frames to 1.
Li hang from China had a 60 break in the first frame against K.Salam Suleman from Sweden then rattled off the next three frames to win 4-0 in this group B match.
Vinny Muldoon from Ireland had four breaks in four frames, a 52, 71, 82 and a 92 in a straightforward 4-0 win against Al Urfy Bairaq from Sweden in this Group A match.
In Group B Yuttapop Pakpoj from Thailand was to strong for Japan’s Toyoda Kyota and won 4-0 which included breaks of 60 and 61. Stephen Cragie from England had an easy win as well when he beat Khalid Khamali from the UAE in Group C by 4 frames to 0 with the help of a 51 and an a 83 break in frames 3 and 4.
Irish player Sean Conway found himself 2-1 down after 3 frames of his match in Group B against Grzegorz Biernadski, but managed to win three frames in a row, including breaks of 62 and 75 to win 4 frames to 2. The final match of the session saw Ross Higgins from Scotland have a 52 break in the second frame in his 4-0 win over Sam Bond from New Zealand in this Group C clash.
Fifth & final Session from day 3
The Final Session saw the match withwith Osama Anga from Libya and Tony Moore from Ireland go in the favour of Osama by a scoreline of 4 frames to 2 in Group D.
Sam Cragie from England won his match against China Hong Kong’s Yun Shing Wong by 4 frames to 1 with the help of a 63 and a 55 break in frames 3 and 4. Germany’s Marius Wiese tok little time in winning four-nil against Sweden’s Benjamin McCabe in Group D.
Campbell Dunlop from Scotland managed to win his match in this session by 4 frames to 2 against Adam Stefanow from Poland in Group E. Welsh Player Jamie Clarke met Arya Sohrabi in this Group E match, which Jamie won by 4 frames to 1. Greg Casey from Ireland had an easy win with a straightforward 4-0 win over Ryan Knott from New Zealand in Group E. David Cassidy from Ireland found himself 2-1 down against France’s Brian Ochoiski in their Group F encounter but managed to reel of three frames in a row to win the match by 4 frames to 2. The final Match of the day was from Group F, where Chinnapat Kamsad had a 52 break in the first frame, but lost the next by 68 points to 40, before he took three frames in a row to see out the match by a score line of 4 frames to 1.
