World Under 21 Snooker Championship
Day Two – Monday 2nd August
First Session
The first session of day two saw Irishman Tony Moore (Group D) secure his second win of the Championship with a 4-1 win over Germany’s Marius Weise. Two other players from group D also have a second win from two under their belt, the two players being,Yun Shing Wong from China Hong Kong and Sam Craigie from England.
Shachar Ruberg from Israel had his second win from Two matches with a 4-1 victory over K.Salam Suleman from Sweden. In Group C Khalid Khamali From the UAE ran out a 4-2 winner over Sam Bond from New Zealand. In Group E Scotland’s Campbell Dunlop beat New Zealander Ryan Knott 4 frames to 0.
Ireland’s Jason Devaney (Group C) won his second match 4-0 against Janne Saarela from Finland, Jason has not conceded a frame in the tournament so far. Poland’s Michal Zielinski knocked in a 109 break in the second frame of his match against Stephen Craigie from England, but Stephen had breaks of 77, 55, 72, and 64 to win 4-2.
Second Session
The second session of the day started with Irishman David Cassidy winning his second match of the tournament by 4 frames to 2, including a break of 65 in the fifth frame. Jamie Clark from Wales had a 57 break in the third frame in his win over Adam Stefanow from Poland. Belgium’s Julius Grauls won 4-1 in his match against
Mohammed Faithi Alsenan in Goup G. While in Group E Arya Sohrabi of the Netherlands won his match 4-0 against Adem Gerwash of Libya. Scotland’s Michael Leslie Had little difficulty in Group F with a 4-1 win against Chinnapat Kamsad from Thailand.
Declan Brennan from Northern Ireland missed the last pink in frame five of his group G match but still recorded his highest break so far with a 118, and went on to win the match 4-2. Danni Bismoot from Israel had an easy 4-0 win in Group F against Brian Ochoiski from France.
The final match of the second session saw Kishan Hirani from Wales win 4-0 against China Hong Kong’s Man Hoi Leong.
Third Session
The match between Ireland’s Stephen Reddington and Scotland’s Rhys Clark was a very close affair with the match going 3 frames all. But it was Rhys who managed to win the final frame decider by 61 points to 33. Vladyslav Vyshnevskyy from the Ukraine run out a 4-2 winner over Abdullah. A. Alatyani.
Irish Player Daniel O’Regan won by 4 frames to 2 in his Group I match against Aleksi Tenkula. Ali Alobaidli from Qatar beat Belgium’s Kristof Vermeiren by 4 frames to 2 in their Group H match. Simon Lee from China Hong Kong lost 4-2 to Egypt’s Mohammed Ibrahim Aly in Group G. Local Letterkenny Irishman Gareth Boyle won 4-1 against Germany’s Benedikt Griesdorn in Group H.
In Group H, Maltese Thurston Grixti had a break of 51 in the second frame and went on to win 4-0 against Egyptian Karim Mohamed Metwaly. The Final Match of the session Saw a comfortable win for England’s Nick Jennings against Daniel Dempsey From Ireland.
Fourth Session
The fouth session saw Shaun Dalitz from Australia in Group I play Dylan Murray from Northern Ireland. Shaun won the match four nil with a 62 break in the third frame and a 51 break in the fourth. Thailand’s Patchara Mayoe also won his match 4-0 against Mostafa Gebaly from Egypt.
Group A had two players duelling in a fantastic match with Robert Carlisle from Scotland winning against China’s Li Yan by the score of 4 frames to 2. In Group J Aaron Busuttil from Malta won out a 4-1 match against Abdullah Alsubh from Saud Araba.
Group B saw Li Hang from China win his third match from 3 with a 4-0 win over Irishman Sean Conway. Li hang has still to concede a frame in the tournament. In Group J Roman Dietzel from Germany managed three breaks of 81, 59 and a fifty seven in the sixth frame to win 4-2 against Northern Ireland’s Micheal Smyth.
In Group A Irishman Vinny Muldoon won his second match with the help of a 97 in the second frame and a 101 in the fourth frame in a 4-0 win against Maor Shalom from Israel. The final match in session four saw a four frame to one win in the favour of Kurt Brown from Australia against Belgium player Jurian Huesdens.
Fifth & final Session from day 2
The final session saw Grzegorz Biernadski from Poland take a 2-0 lead with breaks of 72 in both the opening two frames. But his opponent Mitchell Van Den Bergh from the Netherlands take the next four in a row including a break of 64 in the fourth to win their match by 4 frames to 2. Thailand’s Yuttapop Pakpoj had a straight forward 4-0 win over Sweden’s K. Salam Suleman.
Michal Zielinski from Poland met Ross Higgins from Scotland in Ross’s first game in Group C. Michal had little difficulty in securing a four nil win against Ross. Group C saw a match with Janne Saarela from Finland and Stephen Cragie from England. Stephen had two excellent breaks of 95 and 100 and run out an easy winner by 4 frames to nil.
Yun Shing Wong from China Hong Kong beat Osama Anga from Libya by a 4-2 scoreline with the help of a 51 break in the second frame and a 71 break in the sixth frame. Shachar Ruberg from Israel ran out an easy winner with a 4-0 win over Toyoda Kyota from Japan.
In Group C Khalid Khamali from the UAE beat Jason Devaney from Ireland by a 4 frames to 2 scoreline. In the last match of the session and the day, Irishman Tony Moore won his match by 4 frames to to 2 against the New Zealand player Shannon Swain.
