David Causier lifted the first ever world title by winning 2013 World Billiards Championship (Short format) here at Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds, England. In the final he defeated former Asian Champion, Alok Kumar 6-1 in an one sided affair.
Today in the first semi final David Causier from England had no hurdle in thrashing out his compatriot Rob Hall 5 games to 1.
The only moment Causier struggle was in second game where he lost despite having scored 70 points in the start of the game. A timely unfinished break of 86 leveled the proceeding. Causier however never looked back from that point as he went on a rampage with his characteristic fast play to finish off the match winning the remaining 4 games on the trot.
Alok Kumar from India had almost won the match when he missed the match point and put himself under unnecessary pressure.
Rupesh Shah failed to defend his title in 150Up format of World Billiards championship being played here in Leeds, England.
