World Snooker championship set to start tomorrow

Preparations got over for the 2016 IBSF World Snooker Championship and matches shall start tomorrow at Al-Sadd Sports Club in Doha with the finals for Men, Masters and Women category to be played on November 29th.

Total 238 players from 58 countries are participating in this championship, which is highest in the recent years. These 238 players includes, 126 Men, 27 Women and 85 Masters cueists  and total 41 Referees will look after all matches over next 10 days.

Total 20 match table have placed inside the Al-Sadd Sports Club. These tables are sponsored by M/s. Shender. Table cloth in use is 6811 30Oz and ball-set Aramith Tournament Champion 1G, which are also sponsored by Strachan and Aramith.

The seating capacity inside he club is enough for more than 1000 spectators.

Live scoring is available for all the matches and the live matches on Table No.1 to 4 can be seen through our website.

The 2015 World Snooker Championships begins in style

The 2015 IBSF World Snooker championship begins at Hurghada, Egypt.

The  Opening Ceremony was held last night at Sunrise Garden Beach Resort and after the glittering cultural program, Mr. Barrie Jones, the IBSF Board Member announced the championship open.

The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of Mr. Ahmed Nasir, President of African Sports Confederation. He was joined by the dignitaries from IBSF and all participating member countries.

The ceremony began with the procession of all players participating in the championships. After that the Chief Guest Mr. Nasir welcomed the players & delegates to Egypt and congratulated the Egyptian Federation for their efforts to hold this championship in Hurghada.

There are total 44 countries participating in the championships and we have received total 134 entries in Men's category, which are divided into 22 groups. Four will qualify from each group to play knockout from 16th onwards.

For women and Masters caregory, total 32 and 80 players are participating and their knockout matches will start from 18th onwards.

For the championships Mr. Simon Smith from United Kingdom is appointed as Tournament Director, Mr Mohammed Kammah, IBSF Overseer, Mr Marawan El-Enani from Egypt is Assistant Tournament Director, Mr.Joseph Lo from Hong Kong is Head Referee, Mr. Nico De Vos from Belgium and Mr. Ali Reda from Egypt are Assistant Head Referees. Dariusz Goral from Poland is taking care of Live Scoring / Results; and Vivek Pathak from India is Media Officer and for Website Updates.  The Tournament Committee is supported by Egyptian Federation Organising Committee, Mr Amer Khattab and Mr Rageh Hosni.

World Billiards to commence on Sunday

Coming Sunday 20th September, the 2015 IBSF World Billiards championship will start in the South Australia’s Coastal Capital, Adelaide. The first event will be the 150Up and will run from 20th to 23rd. This will be followed by the Open Timed event running from 24th to 27th with a Women’s, and U21 Championship also being played from 25 to 27th September.
