India will host IBSF World Snooker

Later in the month of November, India will host 2014 IBSF World Snooker Championships. IBSF Vice President and the President of Billiards & Snooker Federation of India, Captain Mohan, is pleased to announce that IBSF World Championship for Men, Masters and Women will be held in Bangalore, India from 19th - 29th of November.

It will be fantastic to return to "Incredible India" to crown the 2014 IBSF Champions and the full details will follow soon.

UAE to host IBSF World Under-21 Snooker Championships 2014

United Arab Emirates has graciously accepted to be the HOST Country for the 2014 IBSF World Under-21 Snooker Championship. The championship will take place in Al Fujairah from 10th to the 18th May 2014. The UAE Billiards & Snooker Association will be organizing this mega event in Hotel Concorde, Al Fujairah using 8 Shender tables for the competition. (+2 practice tables).

Gilchrist creates history by scoring career's second 1000+ break

History was created in the game of Billiards in Ireland today when Peter Gilchirst hit his career's second 1000+ break against Northern Ireland's cueist Chritian Kirk. But like so many other great moments of sports after achieving a goal all steam runs out, so was the case with Peter when he missed a pot in the very next shot after making history.

Egypt to hold IBSF World Team & 6Reds

The Egyptian Federation of Billiards sports has agreed to host 2014 IBSF World Team & 6 Red Championships at Sharm El Shaikh from 18th till 29th June. The players and referees meeting will take place on 18th June followed by opening ceremony. Matches will start on 19th of June.

Winners of 2013 World Championships (Men, Women and Masters)

Winners of 2013 World Snooker Championships (Men, Masters and Women):

Wendy Jans of Belgium wins World Women's title; Zhou Yuelong of China wins World Men's title; and Phisit Chandsri of Thailand wins World Master's title.

Championship was held at Olympic Centre, Daugavpils, Latvia from 27th November till 8th December 2013

Zhou Yuelong becomes world champion 2013

Zhou Yuelong of China becomes the World Champion here at Daugavpils, Latvia. 15 years old Zhou Yuelong reached to new heights  routing his compatriot Zhao Xintong, another 16 years old teenager from China 8-4 in the best of 15 frames final of 2013 IBSF World Championship. By winning the title, he becomes the youngest ever cueist and the first ever Chinese player to win the world amateur snooker title.

Zhou’s victory also kept the Asian supremacy intact by retaining world amateur title in Asia for fourth time in a row. In 2010 Dechawat Poomajaeng of Thailand brought the title to Asia and after that, Hossein Vafaei (Iran), Muhammad Asif (Pakistan) succeeded to retain the same and now Zhou also joined them.

In the final, Zhao broke the silence by winning first two frames but the rally of five successive frame wins put Zhou in the commanding position. Though he gave away two more frames before winning the title comfortably 8-4. Zhou also made two century breaks to rout Zhao.

Glen to take on Phisit in Mastes final

Glen Wilkinson from Australia made it through to the finals of Masters championship second time in a row. Last year he was finalist against the then champion Darren Morgan and this year he is eyeing to better his performance by winning it.
