Multiple time world champion Rupesh Shah faced a stiff competition in his first knockout match of last 32 stage from his compatriot and a player from his same club in India, Dhvaj Haria.
Shah started off well and soon pocketed first two games scoring decent breaks of 96 and 64 points when the Junior National Champion of India, Dhvaj made a comeback with a break of 90 points in response to 98 of Shah and pocketed the third game 150(98)-140(90).
Defending champion, David Causier of England was quick to enter in the Last 16 stage of 150Up format of World Billiards Championship 2014 here at Leeds in England.
The 150 Up event of World Billiards 2014 is stepping ahead towards the knockout stage from round-robin. As of now third session is on and two more sessions to go before the knockout draw gets ready.
Last year's timed event world champion, Peter Gilchrist saved his match from multiple time world champion Pankaj Advani. Gilchrist was down 2 games from where he recovered and pulled next three games in time to beat Advani 3-2.
Last night JWM champion Matthew Bolton geared up correctly in today morning's World Championship 150Up match. He had good breaks of 71, 101, and 58 points in all three games to register straight win over Steve Brookshaw of England. Ofcourse there was good scoring by Steve and he made break of 62 in third game as well but Matthew was more consistent in breaks to win the first league stage match of 150Up.
