Alex Borg from Malta topped his group for knockouts after defeating Peter Bullen of Belgium. Peter and Alex both had lost one match earlier and met in the last league match for obtaining top position in their group where Alex won 4-0 and succeed to top the group.

In masters category, Alok Kumar from India curtailed Alain Vandersteen of Belgium and started off well since first frame with a break of 61 points to gain initial lead. He was up-front in second frame too and won 75-48.
