Thailand quick to finish first match of Team Snooker

Thailand pair for World Team Snooker, Thanawat Thirapongpaiboon and Kritsanut Lertsattayathorn started their campaign on first day with quickest finish of their match against Team Bahrain 3-0. Thailand won all three frames in total 44 minutes of playing time and in total 1 hours 6 minutes, including breaks, to complete the match.


First frame was between Thanawat and Habib Subah of Bahrain where Habib only scored only 6 points when Thanawat sent frame winning break of 69 points. Similarly, Kritsanut also kept Punait Saqer on 6 points and crafted clearance break of 83 points to lead 2-0.

Their combination was also smooth in doubles where they Kritsanut break of 67 points to close the proceedings 3-0.

Their break building method continued in next match also where they won 3-1. Though Thanawat faced bit turbulence in first frame and lost to Geng Mingqi but after that Kritsanut saved the match by sending break of 51 in second. In doubles frame, Thanawat secured lead to break 67 and then Kritsanut in reverse single with another break to win 3-1.

However, the upset result was for Indian camp where the favourite team Pankaj Advani and Aditya Mehta lost their match 1-3 to team Philippines-2. Though Advani made two breaks of 59 and 62 and brought the match at par 1-1 but failed to save rest of the frames and lost 1-3. Another Indian Team paired as Laxman Rawat and Kamal Chawla also lost their match 3-2 against Myanmar team.
