Former World champion Praput Chaithanasukan of Thailand won his quarter final match against multiple time world champion Mike Russell of England in an almost one-sided affair in the Myanmar Open Billiards 2019.

In the 750Up format quarter final match, Praput entirely dominated since the start and obtained more than 400 points lead having aid of breaks 92, 50, 87, 99 and 263. These breaks were sufficiently enough to take that much lead and put Russell under pressure. Though Russell got some chances but couldn’t capitalize them properly at initial stage

However, despite all pressure, he attempted recovery and made breaks of 177 and 69 to cut the deficit but this wasn’t enough to stop Praput. Lastly Praput made one more break of 125 points and confirmed his entry in medals-round of Myanmar Open Billiards.

Singapore player Peter Gilchrist also struggled initially and went down by around 250 points against Myanmar’s favourite player Chit Ko Ko but two quality breaks of 216 and 160 points continued his existence in the title race. Earlier Chit Ko Ko made breaks of 66, 63, 96 and 65 to obtain that lead but once Peter geared up, he had no other choice instead sitting as mute spectator.

Although two Myanmar players, the current World No.2 and Asian Champion Nay Thway Oo and Pauk Sa also won their respective matches to confirm medals.

Nay Thway Oo defeated Indian player Brijesh Damani (750-426) and Pauk Sa knocked out another Indian player Alok Kumar (752-518)
