Defending champion Wu Yize lost to World U18 champion Jiang Jun

2019 World Under-18 Snooker champion Jiang Jun of China caused major upset of World Under-21 Boys category by sending home the defending champion and his compatriot Wu Yize.


Jiang fought hard in first frame against Wu Yize but lost only by 2 points. However, he recovered by compiling break of 62 in second frame and moved ahead after winning two more frames to lead 3-1.

Once again, Wu Yize tried recovery with break of 62 in fifth frame but Jiang sent counter break of 61 to maintain the lead.

In seventh frame, Jiang Jun had obtained more than 40 points lead. Wu Yize tried his best to recover nad placed many good safeties but all efforts went in vain when Jiang potted the last pink and won 5-2.

Meanwhile another player from China, Zhao Jiang also entered in the medals round. In quarter final match he defeated Thailand player Narongdat Takantong 5-3.

Zhao obtained 3-1 lead when Narongdat attempted recovery and succeeded to cut the deficit by 3-4. In eighth frame, Zhao compiled break of 84 points and closed the doors for Thai boy Narongdat.
