Thailand mark first dent in Chinese camp

After the first set of Last-32 stage, already 6 players from China have already booked the pre-quarter final berth. Remaining 8 matches are still on and there too, five Chinese players are in contest for the coveted trophy of World Under-21 Snooker 2019.


Top-seed Zhao Jianbo and Peng Yisong were quick to close their match proceedings by winning 4-nil. However, there Thailand player Ratchata Khantee marked first dent in Chinese camp when he won the thrilling deciding frame against Liu Yang of China. Alternate frame wins dragged both of them to the deciding frame where Ratchata composed himself in a better way and won 66-21.

Meanwhile Callum Beresford of England failed to counter his opponent Chen Xiaolong of China despite reaching till the deciding frame. Callum was down 1-2 when he sent two contributions of 71 and 57 points to step ahead.

However, Chinese boy Chen Xiaolong pulled up the sixth frame to set decider and continued his winning streak to confirm berth for pre-quarter finals.
