Polina Astakhova from Russia tried her best to curtail her Chinese opponent Cui Ting Liu and stretched the match as most but stayed unfortunate to lose that on pink ball of deciding frame 1-2.
Polina gave a tough fight and took away first frame by 46-41 but in second frame Cui Ting Liu played better game and made it level by scoring 60 against 26. In third frame, Polina gave best to control the game her way. She somehow succeeded to take the lead but couldn’t pot the much-needed green as that was the only difficult pot before rest of the colours.
Cui Ting Liu was waiting for that opportunity and jumped out of the seat for her visit to pot that green followed by regulation of colours and closed the proceeding 2-1.
With that Cui Ting Liu and Nutcharat Wongharuthai of Thailand have confirmed their place for knockout from Group A. Both have won two matches each and now will take on each other for group's top place.
