Darren Morgan - Wales Darren Morgan - Wales IBSF Media

The defending champion of World 6Reds, Darren Morgan stepped into the quarter-final stage of 2017 IBSF World 6Reds Snooker Championship defeating Saleh Mohammed of Afghanistan 4-2.

Darren was in astonishing form and quickly taken out two frames to lead 2-0, but somehow the third frame got slipped from him by two point difference.

Saleh used that advantage to pocket another frame scoring 36-08 and came at par with Darren but in fifth frame Darren contributed 65 points break to stay ahead. Even in next frame, he curtailed Saleh to one point only to prove his supremacy and closed the match proceedings 4-2 in his favour.

There was a big blow to Indian camp when Pakistani player, Babar Masih sent shock defeat of 4-2 to two-time World 6Reds champion and India’s ace cueist Pankaj Advani.

Though Advani initiated very well with an opening break of 54 points but in second frame Babar fought back to counter Advani and brought him in tie situation for black ball replacement. Advani played safe but when Babar attempted safety, the black ball landed in pocket and match again rested at level.

After that alternate wins put both of them at par with 2 frames to each and then Babar gained momentum to post 34 points break to take 3-2 lead. He continued with tight game in sixth frame too to knockout Advani 4-2.
