2017 World 6Reds and Team Snooker flags off at Hurghada
2017 IBSF World 6Reds and Team Snooker championship has now been started at Hotel Pyramisa Sahl Hashish Resort in Hurghadat, Egypt.
The opening ceremony for the championships was staged last night where General Ahmed Abdullah, Hon’ble Governor, Red Sea graced the ceremony by his presence. He was accompanied by Mr. Ahmed Nasr, President of African Sports Confederation and Mr. Mohammed El-Kammah, Secretary General of International Billiards and Snooker Federation and President, African Billiards and Snooker Confederation.
The Governor of Red Sea, during his speech, welcomed all the participants in Hurghada and wished them a memorable trip to Egypt. He also ruled out any kind of threat perception spread about the country and assured all kind of safe situation for everyone. He also praised the efforts and congratulated Mr. Kammah and his entire team for the hard-work put in for making this event a success. Further ahead he thanked IBSF for allocating the event to Egypt.

Mr. Ahmed Nasr also welcomed everyone in Egypt and wished a true sportsmanship during the competition. He also called it a brave move by all participants for traveling to Egypt and discouraging all rumours spread about safety concerns in Egypt.

Mr. Kammah, while addressing thanked everyone for their visit to Egypt. But he shown concern on decline of number countries participation since last year as many countries taken the rumours seriously. He mentioned that traveling to Egypt is completely safe.

The welcome speeches by dignitaries was followed by cultural show of Egyptian dance performed by well-trained group. After that Mr. Ahmed Nasr played the opening shot and Mr. Kammah declared the championships open.
