The Last 16 stage of 2017 IBSF World Under-21 Boys Snooker Championship was equally divided between European and Asian players with exactly 8 from both the regions.

The same house strength continues in the Quarter finals where each European player is now in direct contest with an Asian for the medals hunt.

From Asia the largest contribution is from China whose 3 players have reached the quarter-final stage. Indian boy S. Shrikrishna is also reached into the last 8 to take the total count four for Asia

From Europe, two welsh boys, Tyler Rees and Ben Fortey advanced to the quarter finals along with Irish player Noel Landers and also the commendable performance by German boy Simon Lichtenberg to make it to the quarter finals.

There were few notable eliminations also in the last-16, which includes former World Under-18 champion, Jackson Page (Wales), who lost the battle against his compatriot, Tyler Rees. Florian Nüßle from Austria lost the decider against Shrikrishna of India. Last player from Hong Kong, Ming Wa Man also made an exit from the competition.
