After the successful completion of Long Up format of 2016 IBSF World Billiards, the shorter version i.e. Point format began today.

The Thailand players, Praput Chaithanasukan and Thawat Sujaritthurakarn, who opted to take part in Point format have arrived India last night and promptly settled themselves into match conditions. They both won their opening matches quite comfortably.

Praput crafted small but effective breaks to counter Indian challenge Shankar Rao. His top breaks of 57, 57, 57 and 93 in all the games were enough to dither Shankar Rao and finally he bowed down against Praput 3-nil.

Thawat also followed the same path and crafted breaks of 81, 89 and 59 against Iranian player Sasan Lashkari to register same match score 3-0.

Meanwhile, the last night champion, Peter Gilchrist was once again in action today morning and continued with the same spirit as he was in last night.

He initiated with a break of 91 to pocket first game against twice world champion Rupesh Shah of India but couldn’t save the next game and lost 48-150. After that he shown some best compilation of breaks and crafted 69 in third and 126 in fourth to seal the match 3-1 in his favour.
