IBSF World Billiards 2016 flags off in Bengaluru IBSF Media

The 2016 IBSF World Billiards championship gets a flag off today in the opening ceremony where BSFI President, Capt. PVK Mohan played the opening shot at the Chenniappan Billiards Hall at Karnataka State Billiards Association, Bengaluru.

The 10 days event of Billiards will see two formats i.e. Long Up & 150 Up. The final of Long Up would take place on 8th December followed by 150 Up having the final on 12th December.

In his opening speech, Capt. Mohan has emphasized on the progress of English Billiards. He also mentioned that the focus was on having quality and not the quantity. It could havee been a line-up of 50 or more participants but the sheen of the championship would have gone.

The event has participation of players like Robert Hall and Nalin Patel from England, Peter Gilchrist from Singapore, Praput Chaithanasukan and Thawat Sujaritthurakarn of Thailand, Aung Htay (Myanmar), Soheil Vahedi (Iran) and the Indian players Pankaj Advani, Sourav Kothari, Dhruv Sitwala, Alok Kumar, Rupesh Shah, Devendra Joshi and others.



Matches shall start from tomorrow at 10 AM followed by each session after two hours gap i.e. 12, 2, 4 and 6.

There are total four group of 5/6 players each and four out of them from each group will qualify for the knockout Pre-Quarter finals.

The IBSF will be providing Live Scoring and Live Streaming on IBSF Website alongwith the Facebook Live and Periscope for all the matches. BSFI also made arrangement of live streaming through SportsFlash on selective matches.
