15 time world champion (Ten individual Billiards, One Team Billiards), Pankaj Advani of India and the multiple time World Billiards champion Peter Gilchrist from Singapore will be in action at Bengaluru, India from Monday, the 5th December and try to defend their respective World titles in the 2016 IBSF World Billiards (Point & Long-Up formats) Championships.
Gilchrist is holding the point format title that he won last year in Adelaide defeating Pankaj Advani and soon after Advani defeated him to win his 10th World Billiards title.
This year the Billiards and Snooker Federation of India is hosting the event in their recently renovated Chenniappan Billiards Hall at Karnataka State Billiards Association.
The opening ceremony will take place today at 7:00 PM in the presence of BSFI President, Capt. PVK Mohan and other dignitaries from the Indian Federation and the IBSF.
Total 10 countries have sent their players for the World Billiards having top names like. Robert Hall and Nalin Patel from England, Peter Gilchrist from Singapore, Praput Chaithanasukan and Thawat Sujaritthurakarn of Thailand, Aung Htay (Myanmar), and the Indian players Pankaj Advani, Sourav Kothari, Dhruv Sitwala, Rupesh Shah and others.
