Clear win for Soheil to claim Tour Ticket IBSF Media

Fancied player from Iran, Soheil Vahedi claimed the first ever IBSF World title here at Doha, Qatar. Though in the earlier rounds, he went through the grinding stages but in the final it was clear win for him as he defeated his opponent from Wales, Andrew Pagett in a one-sided story 8-1.

The best of 15 frames final was dominated by Soheil since the start. Soon he was leading 3-nil when Andrew managed to secure one frame by scoring a break of 69 points, but that remained the only frame for him as after that Soheil posted four top breaks of 57, 81, 55 and 63 in remaining 5 frames to win the title trophy and the tour card.

With this title, the title is also retained with Asia for the sixth year in a row. Soheil is also the second Iranian player who won the World Championship. Before him Hossein Vafaei won the IBSF World Snooker and IBSF World Under-21 Snooker in the year 2011 and 2014 respectively.

The presentation party includes the officials from Qatar Federation and the IBSF Board and gave away trophies to the medal winners.
