Yun Fung Tam storms into the pre-quarter finals

Yun Fung Tam from Hong Kong storms into the pre-quarter finals of World Under-18 Boys competition thrashing his opponent Tudor Popescu so heavily that he couldn’t even reach the double-digit score. Even in two frames Tudor was completely blank and was not able opened his account.

The first frame was completely one-sided that Yun won 69-0 followed by second where Tudor could manage only 5 points before Yun sealed the frame 71-5.

In third frame, Yun crafted two brilliant breaks of 58 and 77 points to take his lead 3-nil and in last frame he scored 59 points break to close the proceedings 93-01 and won the match 4-0.

Another Hong Kong player Ka Wai Cheung also reached the Last-16 stage winning the decider frame against Florian Nüßle of Austria.

Cheung was leading 2-1 when Florian gave him tough fight and snatched two frames to flip the match upside down. In that do-or-die situation, Cheung made a rescue break of 72 points and levelled the match 3-all.

In decider, Cheung held his nerve and played very controlled game to win the frame 66-24 and knocked out Florian 4-3.
