Chen Zifan shocked the defending champion

This was the biggest match for Zifan and he took it very seriously. Since the start he was on the job and wherever he was getting shots, he scored decently to curtail Advani. Soon he reached at the 2-nil lead with a break of 33 in second frame.

In third frame Advani got chance and he posted a recovery break of 36 points to make a comeback in the game.

Zifan must be aware how strong player Advani is, and so he tightened the situation once again by winning next frame 65-0 and raised the lead 3-1.

As the match was getting tougher for Advani, he opted to play tactfully in fifth frame and posted multiple snookers to win and narrowed down the deficit 2-3.

Chen had chance in 6th frame to close the match proceedings but after scoring 11 points he missed the slightly tough black pot. Advani quickly converted that chance into 30 points break to level the match and set decider.

Advani placed a good safety in last frame but Chen played well controlled long pot for red and started scoring with red-black combination. After reaching on 40 points score, he missed the red but the cue ball landed safe. After couple of visits, Chen added 15 more points to his score and caused biggest upset of the tournament.
