India's ace cueist Pankaj Advani made an unprecedented break of 701 points to set new high break for this year's World Billiard (timed) championship. The previous best was 551 which Peter Gilchrist made on the first day of the championship.

Advani was playing against his compatriot Alok Kumar and he attempted a dicey red pot that he missed in targeted pocket but the red traveled two cushion to enter into different pocket. From those three points, Advani crafted an exciting break of 701 points. He finished that break when he missed red pot on the top table play.

Advani did not stop there and again took charge in next visit where he crafted another break of 575 points leaving Alok way behind. In the end Advani won the match by 1326 points (1783-457).

However, on adjacent table, the close contest was on between Aussie player Matthew Bolton and Englishman Rob Hall. The match remained pretty close and after three hours of play, Hall succeeded to win by mere 44 points (731-687). Hall made breaks of 224, 121 and 133 points whereas Bolton settled with 108, 99, 122.
