Peter, Hall started timed format campaign with big breaks

The defending champion, Peter Gilchrist of Singapore exhibited clinical game of billiards today morning and started his campaign in timed format of World Billiards 2014. He was playing against Wayne Doyle of Ireland where first he made a break of 103 and then the massive one 551 to reach total score of 976 in two hours game of round robin. In response to that Doyle managed 243 before losing to Gilchrist.

While Gilchrist's match was on, spectators were simultaneously enjoying another big break that came from the cue of Englishman, Robert Hall. Hall scored 284, 406, 97, 163 and 124 to reach 1277 against his compatriot Gaye Jones who managed a meager score of 59 points only.

Three sessions are over and no big upset recorded so far. However, last night champion of point format, Pankaj Advani faced a stiff competition from his compatriot Arun Agrawal. Though Advani won the match but victory margin reduced to 191 points only (701-510). Pankaj scored breaks of 128, 74, 92, 81, 62, 62 and Agrawal replied with 53, 81, 62 and 80 points breaks.
 
Overall, the top players of the championship are enjoying the timed format where they are freely exhibiting big breaks having no restriction of point limits.
