Shower of breaks started in Leeds

Last night JWM champion Matthew Bolton geared up correctly in today morning's World Championship 150Up match. He had good breaks of 71, 101, and 58 points in all three games to register straight win over Steve Brookshaw of England. Ofcourse there was good scoring by Steve and he made break of 62 in third game as well but Matthew was more consistent in breaks to win the first league stage match of 150Up.
Former World champion and last night's Runner-up Rupesh Shah of India also started with a sparkling break of unfinished 154 points (highest so far in this championship) followed by another century break of 119 against Carl Walter Steiner of Austria. Carl got some scoring shots in third frame and made total 81 points before Shah closed the proceedings 3-0 with a break of 50 points in the last game.
Defending champion David Causier (England), last year's timed format champion Peter Gilchrist (Singapore), Siddharth Parikh (India), Robert Hall (England) had also produced decent breaks in almost all games of their respective morning session matches. Matthew's father, Neil Bolton also registered a century break (109) in third game of his match while defeating Stephen Kershaw of England. This is his first ever century break in any World Billiards Championship.
All the matches in morning session remained one-sided 3-0 except the match between Arun Agrawal (India) and his compatriot Sushrut Pandia. Arun beat Sushrut 3-1. Arun maintained good lead in first two games but in third game a surprise break of 68 points from Sushrut shocked Arun. Fourth game also had a close contest between both but Arun succeeded by 35 points and sealed the match 3-1.
