Today in the first semi final David Causier from England had no hurdle in thrashing out his compatriot Rob Hall 5 games to 1.
The only moment Causier struggle was in second game where he lost despite having scored 70 points in the start of the game. A timely unfinished break of 86 leveled the proceeding. Causier however never looked back from that point as he went on a rampage with his characteristic fast play to finish off the match winning the remaining 4 games on the trot.
In second semi final, Alok Kumar from India also knocked out his compatriot Devendra Joshi with an identical score.
Alok was in commanding position since the start and produced 81, 86 and 74 points break in first three frame. Though he lost the third frame to Joshi but he returned in next game with a magnificent break of 135 points and continued the zeal in subsequent games producing 85, 73, 77 and 95 point breaks to defeat Joshi comfortably.
Worth mentioning, Alok had won the decider last night against B. Bhaskar where at one stage he was on match point to win 4-0 but gave away 3 frames before winning 4-3.
David Causier also overcame a tough challenge from Australia Matthew Bolton (Australia) last night in the other quarter final
