Big Upset of the day; Cheung send Advani home

Towards the end of 10th day of World Snooker Championship 2019, Hong Kong player Cheung Ka Wai caused major upset by defeating three-time world snooker champion and one of the strong title contender Pankaj Advani of India.


Cheung controlled initial rounds well and won two frames by big margin (94-32; 69-31). After that Advani sent two breaks of 67 and 75 and brought back the match on level. But after that Cheung completely dominated and sent back to back three breaks of 80, 72 and 98 to upset former World champion Pankaj Advani.

Muhammad Asif continued his winning streak despite the back pain and won 5-1 against James Mifsud of Australia. The quarter-final match he will play against Thanawat Thirapongpaiboon of Thailand who defeated Laxman Rawat of India 5-3 in Last-16.

In other matches, Jefrey Roda of Philippines knocked out Siyavosh Mozayani of Iran 5-3 and Heikki Niva of Finland also defeated Rodion Judin of Latvia with identical score 5-3.
