Arantxa win high voltage match against Aussie challenge Woods

The Last-16 match of World Women Snooker 2019 between Indian girl Arantxa Sanchis and former Junior World Champion Jessica Woods of Australia stretched till the last pink of last frame before ending in favour of Arantxa.


Almost all frames saw close finish where both won alternate frame to reach decider. Before that Arantxa had chance to finish 3-1 but timely break of 48 points gave some relief to Jessica and she set the match-fate on deciding frame.

In the decider, Jessica again posted break of 38 points to get lead but Arantxa countered her with small breaks and then obtained points on foul and miss to step ahead and won the match.

Arantxa’s next match will be against reigning World junior champion Bai Yulu, who reached quarter finals defeating Germany player Diana Stateczny 3-0.

Bai Yulu was on fire and started with an opening break of 91 points, which is now the highest one for this competition. In next frame she sent two breaks of 81 and 49 to secure 2-0 lead.

In third frame, Diana got some opportunity to score but Bai Yulu was in dominating form and closed the proceedings quickly scoring 61-20 and won 3-0.
