President's Blog
IBSF has launched its new Website
06 Sep 2007
I have explained in the past on this blog about the situation between the IBSF and the 3-two-1 company, our previous webmaster (why the IBSF website is dormant ? dated March 21st).
Finally, and after several months of negotiation, the future development of the IBSF Website has been decided – and that is to turn over the page and to make a fresh start.
From today you can discover and investigate the new IBSF Website and log to the new website address: "http://www.ibsf.info"
This new IBSF Website will have the main target to provide visitors all of the required information about the IBSF.
During all the IBSF Championships, the IBSF Website will become a real communication platform, to manage all the results and photos from the Championships.
As of today, not everything has been completed to the high standard that our sport so rightly deserves, but the site will be further developed and fully operational in the coming few weeks.
The new Webmaster who has accepted the IBSF’s request to bring his vast webmaster experience to the IBSF is Adam Wyard from Australia.
Adam is a Director of a Web Hosting and Internet Consultancy Company in Australia, namely Candela Pty Ltd, with offices in Perth and Sydney.
Apart from Adam’s experience in the Internet field, the added advantage of Adam is that he is a committed Snooker and Billiards player, referee, administrator and webmaster of our sport in Australia. Adam comes with the high recommendation of Mike Peachey, our IBSF Vice President from Australia, who has worked with Adam on many occasions and fully appreciates his skills and commitment to our sport.
I would remind you that this website is yours first and foremost, and must therefore be open to suggestions from the IBSF’s Member Federations.
Out of concern for the transparency and integrity of the IBSF, we will regularly publish statistics relating to visits to the site.
With the completion of the new website, our sponsors will quickly discover the opportunities of our IBSF Website being a fantastic promotion and marketing tool.
The website’s dynamism also depends largely on your cooperation in sending all possible information on our sports Championships, events, news etc - so please do not hesitate in contacting us to inform us of any inforamtion that could be published on the IBSF website. We will always be happy to promote any events you may be organising on the website.
