Peter’s first entry into IBSF final

Semi Final 1: Despite having 14 NIL score visits out of total 30 in the first semi final, Peter Gilchrist booked his appearance for the first time in the IBSF World Billiards final. The former World Champion (Pro) two times, was keen to utilize the opportunity he got after winning his quarter final by a mere 20 points. On the other hand, Geet sailed so far in tremendous form was the spectators’ choice. Geet started the proceedings in the first session with 65 in the 2nd, 135 in the 6th and 170 in the 11th visit. Meanwhile no scoring shot from the 7th to the 12th visit cost Peter a trail of 387 points, when Peter started afresh and slowly but steadily compiled 597 on board when clock sounded for the end of session one. After trailing by 387 points, Peter moved onto a lead of 192 points at the end of the first session.
In the second session, Peter continued his 597 break but could not manage to convert it into a big one and missed out on 610. After couple of visits, Geet scored 103 to narrow the lead but instantly Peter smashed 247 to raise the bar little more. Every miss thereafter by Peter left Geet with no position till the 28th visit, where Geet crafted only 143, which was replied by Peter by a massive and worthy 454 to deliver the knockout blow to Geet. Geet scored 53 in the last 2-3 minutes to surpass the 1000 mark and lost by 646 points.
